Set for a worldwide release on September 5, 2024, the film has already generated significant buzz among fans. Adding to the excitement, recent reports suggest that Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan has been confirmed to be a part of the project.
Written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT marks Thalapathy Vijay’s 68th film in a leading role. In the movie, he will play dual roles along with a talented supporting cast. This includes Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Jayaram, and others.
Sivakarthikeyan likely to join GOAT cast
Although the film has much to disclose, recent reports from Pinkvilla confirmed that Sivakarthikeyan will make a special appearance in the climactic sequence alongside Vijay. It has also been revealed that Sivakarthikeyan is currently in Chennai with the GOAT team, where the makers have allocated the location for his portion of the shoot.
However, official confirmation from the makers and the actor is still pending. If these reports come true, it would be a treat for fans to see these two stars sharing the screen.
Furthermore, reports from OTTplay state that Netflix has secured its digital streaming rights. Additionally, the popular banner Phars Films has acquired overseas rights for a substantial amount. Yet, official announcements regarding these deals are still awaited.
Aside from this, Vijay Thalapathy is planning to quit acting and hopes to take part in politics on a full-time basis. Recently, he announced his plans to contest the 2026 elections with his new political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. He stated, “I am aiming for a corruption-free, progressive, and secular government. Considering the current political climate that divides people by religion and caste, and one could witness corruption everywhere.”
As of now, Vijay is gearing up for the release of GOAT. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen when the makers decide to release its trailer.
