Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal speculations, details and more
At a recent trailer launch event of Animal, Ranbir Kapoor shared intriguing insights into the film. He dubbed it as the adult rated version of Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. When asked to describe the film, the actor stated, “Animal is basically the adult-rated Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. If I had to describe this story in a line, then it’s about a man who goes to any length to protect his family. That’s what the core of the film is.”
While Animal is not a remake, recent speculations and comparisons have given rise to questions about its inspirations. The release of the pre-teaser led eagle-eyed netizens to draw parallels between the fight scene and the iconic hallway fight sequence in the 2003 South Korean thriller, Oldboy.
In a recent interview with Variety, Ranbir Kapoor provided a glimpse into the character he portrays in Animal. He described the film as a “gripping and intense” exploration of human emotions and relationships.
The actor further added, “It explores the complexities of life and the choices we make, with a narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat. My character in “Animal” is a fascinating blend of strength, vulnerability, and unpredictability. He is driven by his past experiences and carries a certain darkness within him, which adds an intriguing layer to his persona.”
That’s not all, during a recent interview with Film Companion, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga spoke about speculated criticism. He has faced a lot of criticism for his work in Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, with many labeling it as extremely misogynistic. When remarked that Animal won’t face similar criticism, Reddy replied, “It will be more.”
