Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters is getting underway, with Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig behind the proton packs. Yet an integral part remained un-cast. Who would play receptionist, facilitating the Ghostbusters’ services, a part originated with such character and sarcasm by Annie Potts? Considering the gender-swapped nature of this new iteration, hot stuff Chris Hemsworth makes a lot of sense.
Feig, whose Spy took the top spot this past weekend tweeted out the news that Thor himself would be the new crew’s receptionist. Hemsworth is killer in comedic roles, even hitting truly funny lines in The Avengers films with ease.
Feig and Katie Dippold penned the new Ghostbusters. Production gets underway this summer.
