This week welcomes a “Friday the 13th.” Naturally, here at Shock, I try to keep us in the spirit of this unofficial “horror holiday,” so to speak, that often incites amusing Jason Voorhees meme-sharing on social media and passionate fan debate on comment boards and beyond.
Friday the 13th is a series I care a lot about. I explain why in this editorial, but I can tell you that it’s the one franchise I’ll speak passionately about. It’s a security blanket to me. Even more, it is a series that I’ll revisit regularly and find my opinions shift in regards to which film entry is better than the other. They won’t shift that drastically, but I might favor one film over another depending on my mood.
Yesterday, I dropped a new episode of Insert Scream Here, in which I told you about my favorite kill from Friday the 13th Part 3 (watch it here). For kicks – because I’m in a Voorhees sorta mood this week (especially with the “Jarvis Trilogy” playing at Cinefamily this Friday) – let’s rank the films from best to worst.
