Wizard of Gore Redux Goes Extreme

Montag the Magnificent returns in ’08

How we initially missed this is baffling… A brochure for the Los Angeles Screamfest (winners announced here) contains an ad for Dimension Extreme’s DVD lineup. In addition to hyping Greg McLean’s Rogue and the sopping wet French killing frenzy Inside, it appears Jeremy Kasten’s Wizard of Gore has been picked up by the distributor.

Based on the H.G. Lewis cult classic of the same name, “Gore” is the story of Montag the Magnificent (Crispin Glover) a master illusionist who performs at underground venues, selecting female volunteers from his rave-like audiences. To their hysteria, it appears he’s dismembered their bodies, but his sleight of hand has fooled them. However, female bodies show up dead from the same wounds performed on stage. Investigators are baffled, and the chase to find the killer begins.

We’ll keep you updated with release info as it becomes available.
