WB has eyes on a franchise
Can kids buy the idea of a skeleton detective? Warner Bros. seems to think so. The studio has snatched up the rights for Skulduggery, based on Derek Landy’s book “Skulduggery Pleasant.”
It’s the first in a proposed nine-book series that follows said boney super-sleuth and his twelve-year-old partner Stephanie Edgley as they repress the arrival of the Lovecraftian “Faceless Ones.”
The book was released in early April via Harper Collins; Landy will adapt his source material for the big screen, a task that shouldn’t be any hassle. He also penned the Irish zom-com Boy Eats Girl and 2003’s Dead Bodies.
