Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil is undoubtedly at the peak of his career. The actor’s work in different genres of movies is being widely appreciated. As he was last seen in the Malayalam film Aavesham, his unique role of Ranga has impressed many. However, it seems that Faasil is also dealing with a neurodevelopmental condition called ADHD. But what is ADHD?
ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects the cognitive processes of an individual. While it is usually diagnosed in children, an adult can also remain undiagnosed for years. In Fahadh Faasil’s case, the actor has been diagnosed at the age of 41.
Per a report by Indian Express, Dr Sudhir Kumar, a neurologist, has revealed that some symptoms of ADHD may persist in adults. He added, “It is most likely that symptoms of ADHD were milder or were missed when they were younger.”
The symptoms of ADHD in adults can range from mild to severe. They are impulsiveness, difficulty in paying attention, and restlessness. Moreover, adults with ADHD might find it hard to multitask. These reactions may affect their personal and professional lives if they stay undiagnosed. Mood swings, anxiety, and depression are more issues that adults with ADHD may face.
Fahadh Faasil opens up about his ADHD diagnosis
Fahadh Faasil opened up about his diagnosis during an event in Kerala. He said, “He (the doctor) told me it can be easily cured if diagnosed at a young age. I asked whether it can be cured if it is diagnosed at the age of 41. I am clinically ADHD diagnosed.” However, it seems that Faasil is still focusing on his career and not letting his diagnosis become a barrier.
On the work front, he will be next seen playing the lead antagonist in Pushpa 2: The Rule. He also has Oxygen, Vettaiyan, Don’t Trouble The Trouble, and Jeethu Joseph’s next in the pipeline.
