Ahead of its launch on March 25, 2022, Ghostwire: Tokyo is receiving a brand-new visual novel for fans to check out to catch up on some of the lore of the game. But it’s not a pre-order bonus or separate purchase; it’s a free download.

The visual novel — titled Ghostwire: Tokyo – Prelude — will introduce players to KK, the spirit character in Ghostwire: Tokyo that assists the protagonist in the game and leader of a squad of spirit detectives. The visual novel will see players investigating various paranormal disturbances throughout Tokyo. It’ll even give players the abilities to make different choices that will reveal more of Ghostwire: Tokyo‘s story.
Ghostwire: Tokyo – Prelude is available for free and is available to download right now on the PlayStation Store. PC users will also be able to dive into the visual novel, but will have to wait a week, as the prequel story will not be available until March 8, 2022 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

One of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Ghostwire: Tokyo stems from Tango Gameworks, best known for its work on The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2. The upcoming game will tell the story of Tokyo’s citizens vanishing and the invasion of supernatural spirits. After being possessed by the spirit of KK, players will have solve the mystery of what’s happening while also taking down spirits who are haunting Tokyo using different spells and weapons.
