MPAA Sees Bereavement Poster as Bad News

Here’s a look at the problem

The MPAA can be just as picky about poster art as it can trailers and films. It seems the censor board has taken issue with the one-sheet for Stevan Mena’s Bereavement, the prequel to Malevolence. That’s the “dangerous” poster below.

What’s their problem? Well, the MPAA isn’t keen on seeing children with weapons. So, what we’ve got here is a tyke with a very big knife. Either it’s back to the drawing board for Mena to come up with a new poster, or just Photoshop the knife out and put in, I don’t know, a walkie talkie or a lollipop.
