The popular romantic C-drama Sweet Trap released its final episode on February 14, 2024. The drama featured Xie Binbin and Miao Yi Zhang in the main roles. It released a total of 24 episodes. Deng Zhan Neng has directed the drama.
Sweet Trap tells the story of Li Nai (Miao Yi Zhang), a young chef who wants to restore her master’s slandered reputation. On the other hand, Jiang Jie (Xie Binbin) is a talented chef who wants to popularize traditional Chinese cuisine and idolizes the same chef Li Nai follows. Li Nai joins the same hotel’s kitchen as Jiang Jie to squeeze out information from his inner circle. But their mutual love for Chinese Cuisine slowly brings them closer and they ultimately fall in love.
In the final episode of Sweet Trap, Jiang Jie and Li Nai join a cooking contest as a team. They come face-to-face with Jiang Xiu (Yakisa). Before the contest starts, Jiang Xiu gets into a Jiang Xuyang (Xu Yang Hao). He asks her if her family approves of her boyfriend. Jiang Xiu gets angry and tells him that her brother knows and nobody else’s opinion matters to her. Before leaving the venue, Xuyang sends in someone to be Jiang Xiu’s sous chef.
Cui Can (Tian Xuning) bumps into his sister. Cui Can demands an explanation for how she has been treating him. His sister answers that she did it to save their family’s reputation. Cui Can gets emotional and tells her that they could’ve worked together to restore the family’s reputation.
Sweet Trap ending & spoilers: Is Miao Yi Zhang in danger?
Jiang Xuyang is ready to go to any extent to take down Li Nai. He comes up with an evil plan that involves harming Li Jidong. When Zhu Hao can sense this, she is taken aback. Meanwhile, an unknown man goes to meet Li Jidong and introduces himself as her friend. He tells him that Li Nai is busy and has sent him to greet Li Jidong instead. As soon as she gets on the lift, Xuyang causes some technical error and traps her inside the lift.
On the final episode of Sweet Trap, after receiving a call from Ms. Wang, Li Nai goes downstairs. Jiang Jie can sense that something is wrong. Zhu Hao confesses to him that Xuyang has been trying to harm Li Nai. After hearing this, Jiang Jie immediately rushes downstairs.
Jiang Xiu also gets tensed and wants to go with him. Jiang Jie finally finds Li Nai. But the contest starts within a few minutes and Li Nai won’t be able to make it to the venue on time. She asks Jiang Jie to leave her behind and join the contest alone.
Xuyang tries to create a ruckus at the competition but fails. Jiang Jie and Jiang Xiu come face-to-face and compete for the title. When all his tactics fail, Xuyang tries to paint Jiang Jie as a liar. But Li Nai and Zhu Hao arrive at the spot and release his call recordings to the public. Xuyang tries to grab Cui Can’s sister to stop her from voting for Li Nai but is taken down by Cui Can. They later call the police and get him arrested.
Jiang Jie and Li Nai remain victorious. Jiang Jie tells her that he will keep winning if he has her by his side. Li Nai promises to always support him. After enduring all the hardships, the couple finally finds their happy ending.
