Netflix boasts one of the largest anime libraries, and it has recently expanded its collection by releasing the first trailer for Ultraman: Rising CG film. The popular superhero franchise has finally revealed the release date and a new look for the upcoming movie.

Ultraman: Rising CG release date, plot, and more
As mentioned earlier, Netflix dropped the initial look for the much-anticipated Ultraman: Rising CG film. This film is the result of the streaming platform’s recent partnership with Tsuburaya Productions. The promotional teaser gives an insight into the latest installment of Ultraman. As is typical of the Ultraman franchise, the trailer of the upcoming film boasts stunning visuals, a glimpse into the plot, and the promise of intense battles.
In addition to the trailer, Netflix revealed Ultraman: Rising CG’s official poster and release date. On Thursday, the streaming giant made an announcement on its X (formerly Twitter). As per the tweet, the animated feature film is scheduled to premiere on June 14, 2024. Moreover, the poster features Ultraman in his sleek, metallic suit and doing his iconic Specium Ray pose.
Shannon Tindle is making his debut as the director of this film. He previously contributed to projects like Coraline, Kubo, and the Two Strings. Alongside him will be John Aoshima as the co-director. Tsuburaya Productions and Industrial Light and Magic are the production companies responsible for this film. Tindle also assists Marc Haimes in writing the script. Tom Knott is credited as producer, and Lisa Poole as co-producer. The film is based on characters by Eiji Tsuburaya.
As for the plot, Netflix describes the plot of the series as the following: “Baseball superstar Ken Sato returns to his home country of Japan to pick up the mantle of Earth-defending superhero Ultraman but quickly finds more than he bargained for when he’s forced to raise the offspring of his greatest foe, a newborn Kaiju. Struggling to balance the roles of teammate and new father, Ken must confront his own ego, his estranged father, and the conniving Kaiju Defense Force to rise up and discover what it truly means to be Ultraman.”
