Kristen Stewart (American Ultra, The Twilight Saga) will be starring in Against All Enemies as Jean Seberg, according to Variety.
Against All Enemies is a political thriller which follows a young FBI agent assigned to investigate actress Jean Seberg when she gets caught up in the civil rights movement in late 1960s Los Angeles. Seberg supported the Black Panther Party, the radical African-American activist organization, which led to the FBI’s attempts to undermine her through the COINTELPRO program.
Seberg most notably starred in Saint Joan, Breathless, Bonjour Tristesse and Lilith. She died in France at the age of 40 under mysterious circumstances, with the local authorities ruling her death a probable suicide.
Stewart is joining Jack O’Connell (Godless), Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Civil War), Margaret Qualley (The Leftovers) and Colm Meaney (Hell on Wheels) in the cast.
Directing the movie is Benedict Andrews, who will be making his feature film debut on this project. Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse wrote the script. Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik, Kate Garwood, Stephen Hopkins and Andrew Levitas of Metalwork Pictures are the producers. UTA is handling the North American release. Memento Films International is releasing the film internationally.
