Scream Queens winner scores role
Tanedra Howard.
Admittedly, I never tuned in to VH1’s reality series Scream Queens until last night. (Chalk it up to work, disinterest and my natural loathing of reality programming.) That’s when judges James Gunn, Shawnee Smith and John Homa declared the winner of the competition who spent the season vying for the Scream Queen crown and a part in Saw VI.
After tears, overcoming fears, a trip to Lionsgate’s screening room, a meeting with the studio’s Jason Constantine and Twisted Pictures’ Mark Burg, and acting in a recreation of a scene from Saw III, the aforementioned Ms. Howard won the hearts of the show’s critics and producers. Now she’s poised to appear in the sixth Jigsaw flick. The question is: Will Howard have a role to chew on? Or will she be relegated to a mere walk-on part? That all depends on what screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton and director Kevin Greutert have in mind.
Saw VI opens in theaters on October 23, 2009.
