Martin Campbell Will Direct Sebastian X

61RX5DCJDXLAlthough his take on Green Lantern bit the dust, Variety reports that director Martin Campbell is taking another stab at the comic book world, this time being attached to helm an indie property titled Sebastian X for Voltage Pictures and Valhalla Motion Pictures.

Based on a 2005 graphic novel penned by screenwriter Michelangelo La Neve (Song’e Napule) and drawn by Stuart Immonen, the story follows an elite cop who, “after a near-fatal injury, is implanted with the memories of the world’s most notorious terrorist — Sebastian X — in order to infiltrate his group before their next attack.”

Producer Gale Anne Hurd, who has had success in adapting graphic novels (TV’s “The Walking Dead”) and misfires (Ang Lee’s Hulk) will produce Sebastian X alongside Oscar winner Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker) and Craig J. Flores, along with original publishers Pierre Spengler and Fabrice Giger of Humanoids. Bill Marsilii (Deja Vu) will pen the screenplay.

Since the critical and box office drubbing of Green Lantern, Campbell has been laying low helming TV movies, but hr has become attached to several film projects in the last year, including Navy SEAL thriller Hunter Killer as well as being rumored for the director’s chair on G.I. Joe 3.
