WWE superstars Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio have been engaged in a never-ending rivalry over the past few years in WWE. It all started in 2020 when Dominik Mysterio made his WWE debut as a fresh-faced babyface, primarily known as Rey Mysterio’s son. Always overshadowed by the legendary luchador, Dominik struggled to carve out his own identity. However, his career took a dramatic turn in 2022.
Dominik Mysterio shocked fans at Clash at the Castle in 2022 when he betrayed both Edge and his father, Rey Mysterio. This shocking heel turn marked a pivotal moment in Dominik’s career, transforming him into a compelling villain. This led to a bitter father-son rivalry, culminating in a match at WWE WrestleMania 39, where Rey Mysterio defeated his son.
While fans thought their rivalry might have concluded at WrestleMania 39, it carried on. Recently, with Liv Morgan’s help, Dirty Dom defeated his father for the first time ever in their singles match.
In a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast, Dominik Mysterio discussed Rey Mysterio’s contributions to WWE and the wrestling world. Although Dominik initially seemed to praise his father’s contributions, he later targeted the latter’s accomplishments.
Dominik Mysterio claims he’s better than Rey Mysterio
On the IMPAULSIVE podcast, The Judgment Day member Dominik Mysterio teased a potential team-up with Logan Paul and discussed Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels. When asked about his father, Rey Mysterio, Dominik addressed whether he would give credit where it’s due. While acknowledging his father’s achievements, Dominik claimed that he has surpassed him, noting that he is in better shape and taller. He also took a jab at Rey Mysterio’s accomplishments. He asserted that he has achieved more at his current age than Rey did at 27.
Despite the fact that the father and son are not currently involved in any feud, their bitter rivalry doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.
