Former WWE champion CM Punk made a surprise appearance at the WWE NXT Battleground 2024 premium live event. This event marked a historic moment as it was the first collaboration between WWE and UFC, both now under the TKO. The event took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, solidifying this unique partnership.
The match card for WWE NXT Battleground was nothing short of spectacular, featuring exciting matchups that thrilled fans. Top NXT stars like Trick Williams, Roxanne Perez, and Oba Femi battled it out, while the event also saw the arrival of guests from outside the brand, including TNA Knockout champion Jordynne Grace and former AEW star Ethan Page. However, the biggest surprise of the night was former WWE champion CM Punk, who was also present at the show.
According to PWInsider, CM Punk attended the historic NXT Battleground 2024 held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. However, reports indicate that he was backstage, and the purpose of his presence there remains unclear. It’s possible he made a friendly visit. Since his return to WWE in November 2023, he has been spotted at NXT shows multiple times.
What did CM Punk advise a top WWE NXT champion?
CM Punk, who has made multiple appearances backstage at WWE NXT shows, has been offering advice to upcoming talents. WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams recently shared how Punk’s presence backstage has been helpful to the talents. Now, WWE NXT champion Roxanne Perez has also shared her experience with “The Best in the World.”
In an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Perez recalled the advice CM Punk gave her after he saw her reading online opinions about her match. She stated, “I do remember, uh, one of the first times that CM Punk ever got to watch me live. I had asked him if he could give me some feedback for my match, and he said he would in a second.”
She continued by saying, “He was sitting right next to me, watching another match, and as soon as it finished, I’m like I’m scrolling on Twitter, and he, like, leans back and he sees what I’m doing on my phone, and he goes, ‘Stop looking at that, stop looking at that. It doesn’t matter what they say, it doesn’t matter if they love you, it doesn’t matter if they hate you. You keep on going out there and doing what you do and proving to everyone why you are in this, you are in the spot that you are in.'”
Punk, a veteran in the business, frequently visits the black and gold brand. These visits will always provide great guidance for the upcoming talents fortunate enough to receive it from him.
