WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes has received a message from his challenger, Logan Paul, ahead of WWE King and Queen of the Ring. Cody Rhodes, who won the title at WWE WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns, is now the face of the promotion. Carrying the top prize of the promotion, the WWE Undisputed Championship, Rhodes has a lot of targets on his back.
Cody Rhodes’s first title defense came against AJ Styles at the WWE Backlash in France. Rhodes and Styles delivered a classic match in France, with Rhodes ultimately coming out on top. The match even received a five-star rating from wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer in his ranking system. Following his first title defense, fans were wondering who would step up against Cody Rhodes next.
A few weeks ago, on the WWE SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis introduced Cody Rhodes to his next opponent, Logan Paul. Logan Paul, also the current WWE United States Champion, last competed at WWE WrestleMania 40, where he defeated Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to retain his title.
Now, Logan Paul has received the biggest opportunity of his WWE career, as he is set to face the current WWE Undisputed Champion, Cody Rhodes. Paul sent out a message to Rhodes ahead of their bout, taking to Instagram Stories and posting a picture of himself from the gym, showing he is ready for the match. He also included a message stating, “Main Event Ready.”
Logan Paul opts out of defending WWE US title at King & Queen of the Ring
Following the announcement of Cody Rhodes facing Logan Paul at King and Queen of the Ring, Rhodes stated he wanted to become a double champion by eyeing Paul’s US title. Initially promoted as a champion vs. champion match, Logan Paul pulled some strings to opt out of defending his title.
Last week, on the WWE SmackDown, during the contract signing segment between Logan Paul and Cody Rhodes, Paul tore the contract and brought in his lawyer to draw up a new contract. The new contract stipulated that only Cody Rhodes would defend his title. Paul also pointed out that the original contract did not specify his agreement, which was for only Cody’s WWE Undisputed Championship to be at stake.
Thus, at the King and Queen of the Ring, Cody Rhodes will defend his title against Logan Paul in the main event of the show.
