He appeared with Imperium and addressed his WrestleMania 40 opponent, Sami Zayn, stating that Gunther is no longer Zayn’s target, as he is not a champion anymore. He mentioned that he elevated the Intercontinental Championship to heights during his reign of 666 days, making him the greatest champion in its history.
Furthermore, Gunther declared that this is his new era and officially confirmed his participation in the King of the Ring tournament. He expressed his intention that, after winning the tournament, he would decide which title to pursue. He stated he would either go after the Intercontinental Championship or aim for any other title.
Already established as a ring general, he now aims to become King of the Ring. The King and Queen of the Ring PLE is scheduled to take place on May 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
