One-half of the current WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Grayson Waller, made a significant dig at AEW. WWE is scheduled to host the May 17th edition of SmackDown in Jacksonville, Florida. Fans may be aware that Tony Khan‘s father, Shad, owns the Jacksonville Jaguars, while Tony owns AEW, which is based in Jacksonville. AEW has held numerous shows at Daily’s Place, particularly during the pandemic.
In an interview with News 4 Jacksonville’s Going Ringside, WWE Superstar Grayson Waller was asked about WWE’s upcoming show in Jacksonville. Waller stated that fans have not seen quality wrestling matches in Jacksonville for years.
Waller stated, “Finally, some good wrestling in Jacksonville. I feel like it’s been years since we’ve seen some really good wrestling in Jacksonville. That’s what we’re bringing back. Somehow, $20 for a ticket. I don’t know how I feel about $20 to see the SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Right now, I feel we have the best roster in WWE history. Hands down, from the bottom to the top. The SmackDown roster is on fire. Things do feel like a new era. Cody said Renaissance Era, I think that’s the perfect name for it.”
Furthermore, Waller did not stop there when asked if he was a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars football team. He stated, “I’m an Eagles fan. All I know about is the Eagles. I only know Trevor Lawrence; I’m not sure what you’re talking about.”
AEW star Dax Harwood fires back at WWE superstar Grayson Waller’s comments
WWE Superstar Grayson Waller had decided to take a jab at AEW. However, it appears AEW star Dax Harwood would not let Waller get away with it. Harwood, who previously participated in WWE under the ring name Dash Wilder, responded to Waller on X (formerly Twitter).
Grayson Waller is known for taking shots like he has done toward The Rock in the past. He also took jabs at Taylor Swift fans, which got a strong reaction from the latter. Now, it seems Waller aims to focus on his competition.
