The Undertaker, who made a shocking appearance at WWE WrestleMania 40, recently talked about his experience. He appeared in the main event of night two, where he assisted Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline to win the WWE Undisputed Championship. In his podcast Six Feet Under, The Undertaker reflected on his appearances at WWE WrestleMania 40. The WWE Hall of Famer stated that the event gave him closure.
The Undertaker stated, “Something happened this weekend. And I had been struggling with it since I retired, but this weekend gave me closure. It really did, like it was fun obviously it was fun, doing this as long as I have and being involved in that and how important that storyline was and is but when it was over and I was running out of the building, I was like ‘I’m good now’ and I don’t know if I needed… you know I never, my last match was in the bone-yard, cinematic, I don’t know how to say it, it was like a moment of clarity I had. ‘I’m okay now.’
He continued, “I’m not saying that I wouldn’t do something like that in the future but I don’t have that feeling in my chest like I’ve had since I retired that I need, I hadn’t come to peace with it… I’m good. I had no clue, I just knew once it was done, ‘You’re good man.’ It’s time to flip the page and go to the next chapter.”
Whose spot did The Undertaker fill at WWE WrestleMania 40?
The Undertaker surprised the fans in the stadium. However, according to reports, the original spot was meant for WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin. WWE had also teased appearances by Stone Cold and John Cena a few weeks prior to WrestleMania 40 when The Rock got involved in the backstage altercation with Cody Rhodes.
During that segment, fans noticed the WWE production truck with pictures of John Cena and Stone Cold. However, Stone Cold did not make an appearance; Cena did instead. According to reports, the reason Stone Cold did not appear at WrestleMania 40 was that WWE and he did not reach a financial agreement.
