WWE Reacts to AEW Airing Altercation Between CM Punk and Jack Perry

The latest edition of AEW Dynamite has caused a lot of stir among wrestling fans following the airing of CM Punk and Jack Perry’s altercation. The recent reports have shed light on WWE’s backstage reaction to AEW airing the controversial footage.

Last week, CM Punk made headlines when he appeared on MMA Hour. The interview covered Punk’s return to WWE, his relationship with Triple H, and meeting Vince McMahon backstage. It also delved into his tenure in AEW, from his backstage altercations to his thoughts on Tony Khan not being a great boss. Following the controversial interview, Khan made the decision to air CM Punk’s altercation with Jack Perry on AEW Dynamite.

Fightful Select’s reports behind the paywall revealed that the reaction within WWE was significant. Many people discussed the situation, but most of those we spoke to were exhausted after an intense WrestleMania 40 week.

There weren’t any particularly surprising reactions or anything unexpected. The promotion isn’t punishing, reprimanding, or taking any action against CM Punk. Some wrestlers viewed the video as a ‘self-own,’ while others watched out of curiosity without much concern.

CM Punk’s response to AEW All In altercation footage

At AEW All In, CM Punk and Jack Perry were involved in a backstage altercation, which led to Punk getting fired from the promotion and Perry getting suspended. While Punk made his return to WWE at Survivor Series WarGames, Perry is yet to make his return to AEW.

AEW decided to air CM Punk and Jack Perry’s backstage altercation following Punk’s interview on MMA Hour. On Dynamite, The Young Bucks presented the footage without mentioning Punk’s name, aiming to build their AEW tag team title match with FTR, who are close friends with Punk in real life.

The footage showed CM Punk and Jack Perry getting into a fight where Punk tried to put a face lock on Perry. However, Samoa Joe and backstage officials intervened to stop the fight by pulling them away from each other. Following the airing of the footage, CM Punk reacted by sharing an image of former US President George W. Bush standing in front of a giant banner of Mission Accomplished.

The airing of the backstage altercation from AEW All In has caused a lot of backlash from the fans and wrestling veterans.
