WWE superstar LA Knight has made a bold statement in response to recent remarks by The Rock regarding the perception of wrestling’s coolness factor. Knight’s comments come amidst anticipation for The Rock’s return to WWE and the upcoming WrestleMania 40 match.
During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, LA Knight addressed The Rock’s assertion that he was bringing back the coolness to wrestling. Knight emphasized that wrestling was already cool before The Rock’s return.
He stated, “I hear him say wrestling is cool again, and he’s right, but I want to make sure everybody knows it started getting cool again six or seven months before he got there. I’m not saying he can’t add to that cool factor or that he won’t. I’m just saying wrestling is cool again, and wrestling was cool again before he came back. I don’t want it to seem like all of a sudden, it happened because of him. Nah nah.”
As WrestleMania 40 approaches, with matches like LA Knight versus former WWE Champion AJ Styles on the card and The Rock set to be in tag team action. It will be interesting to see what other matches get added to the card.
Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer accused LA Knight of copying The Rock
Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has raised eyebrows and sparked debate within the wrestling community by accusing WWE Superstar LA Knight of emulating The Rock in his promo style. Meltzer’s comments come amidst ongoing comparisons between Knight and The Rock, with some critics, including WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, questioning Knight’s originality.
During a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer shared his observations following The Rock’s return to WWE TV and a captivating promo segment on SmackDown. Meltzer expressed concerns about Knight’s promo delivery, suggesting it resembled The Rock’s iconic style too closely.
Despite the criticism from Meltzer and others, Knight continues to enjoy popularity among fans. While there may be concerns about originality, Knight’s charisma and connection with the audience remain strong.
