WWE Superstar Gunther‘s next Intercontinental title challenger was unveiled on tonight’s WWE RAW. During an in-ring segment featuring Imperium, Gunther, the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion, addressed the possibility of WrestleMania 40 opponents challenging him.
During Gunther’s presence in the ring with Imperium, Judgment Day interrupted him. Damian Priest informed him that Judgment Day aimed to secure more gold at WrestleMania, including Gunther’s title. Dominik Mysterio confronted the Ring General, asserting that the title belonged to Judgment Day. Tensions escalated, and Priest’s stablemates restrained him as Gunther pushed Dominik Mysterio.
As Priest currently holds the Money in the Bank briefcase, he possesses the authority to cash in on the title of his choice. Although it appeared that the two could be on the brink of a short-term feud. In another backstage segment, Rhea Ripley seemingly expressed concern about Dominik provoking Gunther before Mysterio encountered familiar faces as his opponents.
It will be intriguing to observe whether Damian Priest opts to target Gunther and utilize his Money in the Bank briefcase to cash in on Gunther. In 2022, Austin Theory, who also held the Money in the Bank contract, attempted to cash in on Seth Rollins, who held the US title at the time. However, Rollins managed to fend off Theory’s challenge and retain his title. Money in the Bank being used once again for a mid-card title brings curiosity about WWE’s future plans.
