The status of Brock Lesnar in WWE 2K24 remains shrouded in uncertainty as the video game navigates the legal storm surrounding the wrestler. Lesnar finds himself ousted from a WWE game amidst swirling allegations involving Vince McMahon.
While Lesnar hasn’t been directly named in the lawsuit, speculation points towards him as the unnamed individual mentioned. This has led to his removal from all current WWE creative plans and promotional materials for the game titled WWE 2K24. However, efforts are underway to address the situation without delaying the game’s release.
Despite speculation and removal from WWE Supercard, Brock Lesnar may remain in the upcoming WWE 2K24 video game. According to Brandon Thurston from WrestleNomics, the publisher is aligning game updates with WWE’s actions, but completely removing Lesnar may impact the release date. Mike Straw from Insider Gaming suggests Lesnar’s full removal is improbable due to logistical challenges.
Despite the controversy, current indications suggest that Lesnar will be in the Showcase Mode of WWE 2K24. While a 2K spokesperson declined to comment, someone familiar with the situation indicated that 2K is taking steps, where possible, to update the game in line with WWE’s decisions.
Wrestling veteran Kevin Sullivan believes Brock Lesnar won’t return to WWE
Speculation was high for Brock Lesnar‘s comeback at the Royal Rumble 2024, but those plans were ultimately scrapped due to the Vince McMahon lawsuit. Additionally, Lesnar got from the WWE Supercard game in the days following the Royal Rumble.
During a conversation on Tuesday with the Taskmaster, former WCW star Kevin Sullivan expressed his desire to see Gunther replace Lesnar on WWE TV. He doubts Lesnar’s return to WWE, stating, “I think they’ll have a hell of a match. Yeah, but I think you have to keep going with Gunther. It looks like you’ve lost Brock, who people pay to see. Right now, [Gunther], is the top horse in your stable that isn’t on the racetrack every day and you’ve got to keep him fed and clothed. Well, Gunther needs to win a belt. I mean a World Title. He needs to step up because Brock is going to be gone. I don’t think we’ll ever see Brock again.”
It seems WWE is taking every measure to distance themselves from Brock Lesnar until all legal matters are concluded.
