A legendary WWE Hall of Famer cast his vote in favor of Becky Lynch as the one to emerge victorious in this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble. Becky Lynch, despite a recent setback against Nia Jax, remains a standout contender.
Since Becky Lynch’s return at Survivor Series 2022, she has been delivering stellar performances and engaging in captivating rivalries. Her feud with the Damage CRLT faction, including a thrilling steel cage match against Trish Stratus at Payback, garnered must attention. Lynch also had a brief but impactful stint in NXT, where she clinched the Women’s NXT Championship. Recently, she announced her entry into the Women’s Royal Rumble, where she declared her intention to emerge victorious.
WWE legend Mick Foley publicly expressed his support for Lynch, dedicating a message on Instagram. Foley also stated that he wants to see a showdown between Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley.
In his post, Foley added the caption, “MICK & THE MAN! Just a random shout out to my dear friend, @beckylynchwwe. I’m rooting big time for #TheMan to win the #RoyalRumble this year – and for the possibility of a Mami vs The Man match at #WrestleMania. That would be incredible…Who would YOU like to see win the men’s and women’s Rumble matches this year? I am also so excited for the arrival of Becky‘s book #TheMan in just a few weeks – and can tell you first hand that it is one of the best wrestling books – or memoirs of any kind I have ever had the pleasure of reading. You can pre-order it now, and I’d highly recommend doing so!…have a nice day!”
With Foley’s endorsement, the anticipation builds for Lynch’s potential triumph at the Royal Rumble and a subsequent showdown with Rhea Ripley.
Becky Lynch teased huge WrestleMania 40 match
Becky Lynch, currently involved in a heated feud with Nia Jax, has targeted the WWE Women’s World Heavyweight Champion, Rhea Ripley. Ripley, who secured the title at WrestleMania 39 against Charlotte Flair, remains an unstoppable force in RAW’s women’s division.
In an interview on Strutting from Gorilla, Lynch discussed her focus within the women’s division, expressing her desire for a potential WrestleMania 40 clash with Ripley.
She stated, “There are so many talented up and comers. One match that we haven’t gotten to yet, numero uno on the docket is I’ve got to shut up Nia Jax, first. We haven’t had that match, which is unbelievable to think that Nia Jax and I haven’t gone one-on-one in a WWE ring, but it’s true. Then, there is the next stop, which is taking the title off Rhea Ripley. That title, when I hold that title, that title is the main event of every show. Her title has been seen in many main events, but not because she’s been defending it, no, just because she’s being the accompaniment to the main event. I can’t have that. I’m sick of that. I’m sick of that and I’m going to take that title back off her, preferably at WrestleMania.”
It will be interesting to see whether fans will get to witness the dream match between Lynch and Ripley at WrestleMania 40.
