Ahead of its series debut on February 22, Netflix has shared a brand new Avatar: The Last Airbender video for its long-awaited live-action TV adaptation of Nickelodeon’s popular animated series.
The behind-the-scenes featurette shows the cast and creative team discussing what to expect from the action-packed series. They also talked about what it was like working on a project with a predominantly Asian cast. In addition to BTS footage, it also includes new scenes teasing Aang, Katara, and Sokka’s adventures.

Who’s involved in Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Based on Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender is written and executive produced by Sleepy Hollow’s Albert Kim, who is serving as the showrunner. It is directed by Michael Goi, Jabbar Raisani, Roseanne Liang and Jet Wilkinson.
The live-action TV adaptation is led by Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Joining them are Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Lim Kay Siu as Gyatso, Ken Leung as Commander Zhao, Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula, Maria Zhang as Kyoshi warrior Suki, C.S. Lee as Avatar Roku, Amber Midthunder as Princess Yue, A Martinez as Pakku, Yvonne Chapman as Avatar Kyoshi, Tamlyn Tomita as Yukari, and Casey Camp-Horinek as Gran Gran.
“Water. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, keeping peace between them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the first step taken by the firebenders towards conquering the world. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope,” reads the synopsis.
