Based on Swedish crime writer Henning Mankell’s Kurt Wallander novel series, the titular protagonist has appeared in eleven novels including 1997’s Faceless Killers, 2000’s The Fifth Woman, and 2011’s The Troubled Man which were all translated to the English language. The novel series was first adapted into a Swedish TV series titled Wallander which ran and was later on-air for three seasons from 2005-2013. It was then later adapted by BBC One which starred Kenneth Branagh as the titular police inspector and lasted for four seasons from 2008-2016.
