HBO has released a brand new promo for their highly-anticipated shows, giving highlight to the upcoming debut of Watchmen and His Dark Materials which are both set to premiere later this year. The teaser also featured the first footage for new shows that are expected to premiere in 2020 such as John Malkovich’s The New Pope, Hugh Laurie’s space comedy Avenue 5, Ben Mendelsohn’s Stephen King series The Outsider, Mark Ruffalo’s drama series I Know This Much Is True and Nicole Kidman’s new thriller series The Undoing.
The teaser also consists of clips from new seasons of Westworld, Insecure, Silicon Valley, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Deuce, Ballers and My Brilliant Friend.

Watchmen is created by Damon Lindelof from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s limited comic book series of the same name. Lindelof also serves as the writer, showrunner, and executive producer with Tom Spezialy, Stephen Williams, and Joseph Iberti also executive producing. Nicole Kassell will executive produce and direct the pilot. The series comes from Lindelof’s White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television and is based on the DC Comics characters. The TV series adaptation is set to premiere sometime this October.
The first season of His Dark Materials will follow the story of Lyra (Dafne Keen), a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Lyra’s search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper will direct the eight-part series. The His Dark Materials adaptation will be produced by Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner’s Bad Wolf with New Line Cinema for BBC One.
