Bloys also spoke about the fan petition circulating online to change the Game of Thrones final season, noting that “many people have big opinions on how it should end” and that “comes with the territory.”

“The petition, I think, shows a lot of enthusiasm and passion for the show, but it wasn’t something we seriously considered. I can’t imagine another network would, but who knows,” Bloys said.

A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin previously officially confirmed that the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel will definitely feature the Stark family. Recent set photos also revealed an unknown house sigil.

S.J. Clarkson (The DefendersJessica Jones, Untitled Star Trek Sequel) will direct the pilot. The cast includes Naomi WattsJosh Whitehouse, and Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: Episode IX), along with Tony nominee Denise Gough (Angels in AmericaGuerrilla), Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney ToddMortal Instruments), Sheila Atim (Harlots), Ivanno Jeremiah (Black MirrorHumans), Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Alex Sharp (To the Bone), Toby Regbo (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald), Marquis Rodriguez (When They See UsSaturday Church), John Simm (Strangers), Richard McCabe (Philip K. The big-budgeted spinoff is created by Jane Goldman (Kick-AssKingsman) and GOT author George R.R. Martin, written by Jane Goldman based on a story by her and Martin. The untitled pilot takes the prequel concept to a new level as it is set thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series chronicles the world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, from the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.
