While William Shatner’s greatest claim to fame will always be his iconic role as Star Trek‘s Captain James T. Kirk, he’s also released a few music albums over the course of his career. Later this year, Shatner will once again unleash his particular musical style with Shatner Claus: The Christmas album. This time, Shatner is being joined by several famous musicians who will lend their voices to his Christmas song covers. Henry Rolins, Brad Paisley, Iggy Pop, Mel Collins, and Judy Collins are among the contributors for the album.
Amazon has already listed Shatner Claus for pre-orders, and it will be available on CD and as a vinyl record. Currently, there are no audio previews for this record, but presumably Shatner will recapture the spoken music sound of his previous albums. Shatner released his first album, The Transformed Man, in 1968, and his subsequent studio albums were Has Been, Seeking Major Tom, and Ponder the Mystery.
