Marc Webb to Direct Limitless TV Series Pilot

First announced back in 2013, a small screen take on director Neil Burger’s 2011 film Limitless is in the works. Although Burger himself was planning to direct the pilot, Deadline now reports that scheduling problems have led to Burger turning the reins over to none other than (500) Days of Summer and The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2’s Marc Webb.

The original movie stars Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper as Eddie Morra, a smart but unmotivated author who turns his life around when he begins taking a drug called NZT, designed to enhance the limits of the human brain. Although the drug is incredibly beneficial at first, Morra quickly finds himself in over his head.

Robert De Niro, Abbie Cornish, Anna Friel and Tomas Arana, co-starred in the original, which earned more than $161 million worldwide and cost just $27 million to make.

Webb is no stranger to directing on the small screen. He previously helmed the pilot episode of the short lived “Lone Star” and the season six episode of “The Office,” “Manager and Salesman.”

The Limitless TV series is in development to air on CBS through Relativity Television and Georgeville Television and will feature Burger as an executive producer alongside Cooper himself, Tom Forman, Heather Kadin, Ryan Kavanaugh, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Todd Phillips and Tucker Tooley.
