Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore have been tapped as the leads in Prime Video’s upcoming thriller series The Assassin. The series comes from brothers Harry and Jack Williams, the co-creators of The Tourist.
The series follows a retired assassin (Hawes) who reunites with her estranged son (Highmore) on a secluded Greek island. The awkward reunion becomes a fight for survival when Julie’s checkered past forces the duo to go on the run.
Hawes is currently starring as Kira Manning on Orphan Black: Echoes. Hawes’ other notable credits include Bodyguard, Line of Duty, and Ashes to Ashes. Meanwhile, Highmore recently wrapped up his seven-season run as Shaun Murphy on The Good Doctor. Before the medical drama, Highmore played Norman Bates in A&E’s Bates Motel.
