Apple TV Plus has confirmed the Before premiere date for Billy Crystal’s upcoming supernatural thriller series.
There’s also a first look at the limited series, which sees Crystal playing it seriously as a haunted child psychiatrist.
Before will premiere globally on Apple TV Plus on October 25, 2024. The first two episodes will be available that day. Further episodes will arrive every Friday through December 20, 2024.
What is Before about?
Before stars Crystal as Eli, a child psychiatrist who, after recently losing his wife, Lynn (Judith Light), encounters a troubled young boy, Noah (Jacobi Jupe), who seems to have a haunting connection to Eli’s past. As Eli attempts to help Noah, their mysterious bond deepens.
The supernatural mystery series also stars multi-Emmy and Tony Award winner Judith Light (Transparent), Jacobi Jupe (Peter Pan & Wendy), Oscar Award nominee Rosie Perez (The Flight Attendant), Tony Award-nominee Maria Dizzia (Orange Is the New Black) and Ava Lalezarzadeh (In the Garden of Tulips).
Before comes from Paramount Television Studio and is created by Sarah Thorp (The Bounty Hunter). Thorp serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Crystal executive produces alongside Eric Roth (Killers of the Flower Moon, Dune), pilot director Adam Bernstein (Silo, Billions), and producing director Jet Wilkinson (The Chi, Truth Be Told).
Billy Crystal is best known for his comedic roles, so this is an interesting departure from the norm for the actor. He got his big break as part of Saturday Night Live and went on to star in hit movies such as When Harry Met Sally, Monsters Inc. The Princess Bride, Analyze This, City Slickers, and Spirited Away.
