Apple TV+ has announced the highly anticipated Disclaimer release date. Academy Award winner Alfonso Cuarón is back on TV with a new limited thriller series starring award-winning actors Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline.
Disclaimer, billed as a “gripping psychological thriller,” is based on Renée Knight’s best-selling novel of the same name. It follows journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett), who has built her career to new heights by exposing the darkest secrets of other people. However, a novel by a mysterious author seems to expose Catherine’s secrets, which leads her to find the author behind the novel which could ruin her life and career. When is the Disclaimer release date?
The first two episodes of the psychological thriller are set to arrive globally on the streaming giant on Friday, October 11. The remaining episodes will premiere on Fridays through November 15. In addition to Blancett and Kline, Disclaimer also stars Sacha Baron Cohen (The Dictator), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Alpha), Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris), Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes), Leila George (Mortal Engines), and Hoyeon (Squid Game).
The synopsis for Disclaimer reads:
“Acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets. As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys both her own life and her relationships with her husband Robert (Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Smit-McPhee).”
Cuarón serves as the show’s writer and director, as well as one of the executive producers. The series is produced by Esperanto Filmoj and Anonymous Content.
Disclaimer hits Apple TV+ on October 11.
