Resident Alien Season 4 is officially happening but with one major change. NBCUniversal has renewed the series for a fourth season, but it will crash land on a different network — moving from Syfy to USA Network.
The sci-fi comedy-drama debuted on Syfy back in 2021, with the third season — which premiered this year — serving as its last run on the network. This time, viewers can witness Harry Vanderspeigle’s adventures on Earth through the USA Network. The third season averaged a total of 3.3 million viewers, proving to be a hit series that requires a broad audience.
The exact reason behind the network change was not disclosed, though the sudden move could arguably be NBCUniversal’s plan to show the hit series to a wider audience. Both USA Network and Syfy are under NBCUniversal.
When is Resident Alien Season 4 coming out?
Apart from the network change, other details about Resident Alien Season 4 remain under wraps, including the release date. The fourth season’s episode count has yet to be announced as well.
Based on the Dark Horse comics created by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien stars Alan Tudyk as an alien on a mission: to destroy humanity. After he crash-landed in a small town around Colorado, he takes on the identity of a real doctor named Harry Vanderspeigle.
“A crash-landed alien takes on the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor and slowly begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his secret mission on Earth,” the logline reads.
In addition to Tudyk as Harry, Resident Alien also stars Sara Tomko as Asta Twelvetrees, Corey Reynolds as Sheriff Mike Thompson, Alice Wetterlund as D’arcy Bloom, Levi Fiehler as Ben Hawthorne, Elizabeth Bowen as Deputy Liv Baker, Judah Prehn as Max Hawthorne, Meredith Garretson as Kate Hawthorne, and more.
