Over two years after the second season of Alex Rider premiered in 2021, Amazon Freevee has finally unveiled the highly anticipated release date for Season 3 along with a high-octane trailer. Set to arrive on April 5, the title character (played by Otto Farrant) takes on another mission that will soon unveil secrets about his family, including the reason behind his father’s death.
The trailer for Alex Rider Season 3 came out after an optimistic update promised that a third season will soon “see the light of day.” The trailer starts with Alex Rider’s encounter with Sofia Helin’s Julia Rothman, the woman who will reveal “everything” she knows about the teenage spy’s late father.
Alex — who will eventually come to understand the “lies” he has been told over the years — confessed in the trailer’s final moments that he knew his father had been killed and that he knew who was responsible.
In addition to Farrant reprising his role as the highly skilled spy, the trailer also previewed the return of some familiar faces, such as Brenock O’Connor’s Tom Harris, Marli Siu’s Kyra, and Vicky McClure’s Mrs. Jones.

What is Alex Rider about?
Based on Anthony Horowitz’s book series of the same name, Alex Rider follows an orphaned titular lead whose incredible skills led him to be recruited to the Secret Intelligence Service’s Department of Special Operations.
“Pressured to help investigate his uncle’s death — and how it connects to the assassination of two high-profile billionaires — Alex reluctantly assumes a new identity and goes undercover in a remote boarding school called Point Blanc. Isolated far above the snowline in the French Alps, Point Blanc claims to set the troubled teenage children of the ultra-rich back onto the right track. But as he digs deeper, Alex discovers that the students are in fact the subjects of a disturbing plan by the mysterious Doctor Greif — a plan which he will have to risk his life to stop,” the synopsis reads.
Alex Rider Season 3 premieres on April 5.
