During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries star Kathryn Hahn provided an update on the current status of the highly-anticipated Disney+ series.
Hahn confirmed that production on the WandaVision spin-off is nearing its completion, while also expressing her excitement for Agatha’s return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The upcoming series is currently slated to debut later this year.
“We just have a few more days to pick up, yeah,” She said. “We’ve got most of it done. It’s very exciting. Marvel fans and just anyone who loves a witch [laughs] . . . I can’t wait for people to see it. Who wouldn’t want to play a witch? That’s all I played as a kid, every Halloween.”
Who’s involved in Agatha: Darkhold Diaries?
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries hails from head writer and director Jac Schaeffer, who is also serving as an executive producer along with Kevin Feige. Joining Hahn are Emma Caulfield Ford and Debra Jo Rupp, who are reprising their roles as Westview residents from WandaVision.
The series will also introduce a new batch of MCU newcomers, including Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata, and Patti LuPone, with Locke rumored to be the male lead and LuPone set to play Sicilian witch Lilia Calderu. LuPone also previously confirmed that the series will feature several musical numbers from Agatha All Along songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
