Actor and comedian Denis Leary and actor O-T Fagbenle are joining the cast of the Netflix dark comedy series No Good Deed.
Leary and Fagbenle will join previously announced cast members Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, Linda Cardellini, Luke Wilson, Teyonah Parris, Abbi Jacobson, and Poppy Liu. The series comes from creator and executive producer Liz Feldman (Dead to Me), and the first season will consist of eight episodes.
Who are Leary and Fagbenle playing in the series?
According to Netflix in an announcement, Leary will play the role of Mikey, an “intense ex-con whose debts have driven him to desperate measures, Mikey finds himself in a dark hole after a terrible accident derailed his sobriety and pulled him away from his family.”
Fagbenle will play the role of Dennis, a “tirelessly upbeat, deeply anxious and overly appeasing struggling writer, Dennis is in the market for a new family home for wife Carla (Teyonah Parris) and their baby on the way.”
No Good Deed is described as a half-hour, dark comedy that “follows three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish style villa that they think will solve all their problems. But as the sellers have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a total nightmare.”
Leary is best known for his career as a stand-up comedian and his starring role in the hit series Rescue Me, which he co-created and received two Emmy nominations for. Fagbenle is an English actor best known for his role as Luke in the hit Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, for which he also received an Emmy nomination for. Fagbenle also portrayed President Barack Obama in 2022’s The First Lady.
