Based on the Neapolitan Novels series by Elena Ferrante, My Brilliant Friend or L’amica Geniale on HBO Max is an Italian drama series about female friendship. When an elderly author Elena Greco learns that her most important friend, Lila Cerullo, has gone missing, she starts to reminisce about the decades of friendship that she shared with her starting in primary school in Naples in the early 1950s. Season three of the series is based on Ferrante’s third book in the Neapolitan Novels.
