Netflix has announced that production on the highly-anticipated Bridgerton Season 3 has officially begun in London. The news was revealed in an announcement video, featuring the returning cast members including the next season’s leading stars Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan.
“Season 3 finds Penelope Featherington as she’s finally given up her crush on Colin Bridgerton after hearing him disparage her to his friends last season,” reads the synopsis. “Instead, she’s focusing on finding a husband who will respect her independence so she may continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, away from her mother and sisters. Due to her lack of confidence, however, her search doesn’t go so well.”

In addition, Deadline brings word that the streamer has also welcomed the addition of three new cast members including Daniel Francis (Stay Close), Sam Phillips (The Crown), and James Phoon (Wreck), who are set to portray the respective roles of Marcus Anderson, Lord Debling, and Harry Dankworth.
Their character descriptions are listed below:
- Francis’ Marcus – has a charismatic presence who lights up any room he enters, attracting the notice of certain matriarchs in the town — and the ire of others.
- Phillips’ Lord Debling – is a genial lord with unusual interests. But with wealth and a noble title to back up his eccentricities, he’ll have no shortage of interest from young ladies this season.
- Phoon’s Harry Dankworth – What he lacks in wit and intelligence, he more than makes up for with serious good looks.
Bridgerton Season 3 will now be based on the fourth book of the series titled Romancing Mister Bridgerton. Colin and Penelope will be succeeding the passionate love stories of Daphne and Simon from Season 1, and Anthony and Kate from the latest season.
