As announced by the show’s official Twitter account over a month before its debut date on March 24, Paramount+ has already ordered another season. The tweet did not add any extra context or information, but Variety‘s report states that David Wiener is officially the showrunner now.
A report from the beginning of the month stated that Wiener was in talks to become the showrunner in the future. This implied that it would get another season, but it was not confirmed at that time.

This move seems to imply some confidence in the show, which is undoubtedly fueled by not only the reverence for the Halo games, but also the warm reception to the recent Halo Infinite. Paramount Plus Chief David Nevins spoke about said confidence.
“‘Halo’ takes us into a dazzling world that we believe will enthrall audiences as much with its electrifying visuals as its bold, character-driven storytelling,” he said. “This second-season pickup reflects the confidence we have in the power of this epic series to attract and engage viewers.”
