According to Deadline, The Sopranos vet Michael Imperioli has signed on for the leading role in the upcoming second season of Mike White’s dark comedy series The White Lotus. This marks Imperioli’s latest collaboration with HBO, following the iconic crime drama, and an appearance in the hit dramedy Girls.
The Emmy winner is set to portray the role of Dominic Di Grasso, a man traveling with his elderly father and recent college-graduate son. He’s the first confirmed cast member for the second installment, but it has been rumored that Season 1 star Jennifer Coolidge might be returning.

The upcoming second season is set to take place in a new location and will be introducing a whole new set of characters. The next chapter leaves Hawaii behind and follows a different group of vacationers as they jet to another White Lotus property and settle in temporarily amongst its inhabitants.
The series is a social satire set at an exclusive Hawaiian resort. “It follows the vacations of various hotel guests over the span of a week as they relax and rejuvenate in paradise,” reads the synopsis. “But with each passing day, a darker complexity emerges in these picture-perfect travelers, the hotel’s cheerful employees, and the idyllic locale itself.”
