Manifest creator and showrunner Jeff Rake took to Twitter to confirm that production on Netflix’s upcoming supersized fourth and final season has finally begun.
The filming start comes after over two months since the popular sci-fi drama was successfully saved by the streamer from its NBC cancellation. Manifest Season 4 currently has no target return date attached to it yet.

The show’s renewal was all thanks to the fans’ continued support which was backed by the first two seasons’ strong debut performance on the streamer. Before it was canceled by NBC, Rake originally mapped out a six-season plan for its story. It’s interesting to see how he will integrate his initial plan into the series’ upcoming final 20 episodes.

Manifest hails from writer and executive producer Jeff Rake, who is also serving as the showrunner. Season 4 will feature the return of Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long, Holly Taylor, and Ty Doran as the new series regular.
The series centers around a commercial airplane that mysteriously disappears, only to reappear five years later. While no time has passed for those on board, the world has gone on without them, and new mysteries unfold for the passengers as they seek to find answers as to how and why their plane disappeared years ago.

Manifest is executive produced by Jack Rapke, Jackie Levine, and Len Goldstein. It is a co-production among Warner Bros. Television, Universal Television, and Compari Entertainment.
