Hulu has officially granted creators Steve Martin and John Hoffman’s new comedy series Only Murders in the Building an early second season renewal. The first five episodes are now available for streaming on Hulu.
Since its debut, the series has garnered positive reviews from critics, praising its fresh take on the murder mystery genre and the performances of its leading cast including Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short. In addition, the streamer also proclaimed the show as its most-watched premiere day for any Hulu Original comedy to date.

Only Murders in the Building hails from co-writers and co-creators Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace & Frankie). The comedy series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Joining them are Nathan Lane, Aaron Dominguez, and Amy Ryan.
“The series centers around three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one,” reads the synopsis. “When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.”
