Following the recent casting of Milo Ventimiglia, Amazon Studios has announced that they have enlisted another Gilmore Girls vet to reunite with series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino in the upcoming fourth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It has been confirmed that Tony winner Kelly Bishop has signed on for a guest-starring role in the next season of Amazon Prime Video’s acclaimed comedy series, which is currently still in production in New York City. This announcement also came with the released of a new set video, offering us our first look at Bishop’s character.

Bishop is best known for her role as the family matriarch of the Gilmore family. She last portrayed the character in Netflix’s 2016 miniseries Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The Tony winner’s other TV credits include: All My Children, My Wildest Dreams, Mercy, Bunheads, The Good Wife, and Halston.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel stars Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, Tony Shalhoub as Midge’s father Abe Weissman, Alex Borstein as Susie Myerson, Michael Zegen as Midge’s husband Joel Maisel and Marin Hinkle as Midge’s mother Rose Weissman.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is written and directed by renowned creator Amy Sherman-Palladino (Gilmore Girls) and executive producer Daniel Palladino (Family Guy). The series has already won 20 Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes including Outstanding Comedy Series.
