Following today’s earlier announcement that ABC had renewed a handful of fan-favorite series, the network has revealed that American Housewife, Rebel, Mixed-ish, and For Life have been canceled, according to TVLine. It was previously announced that Kyra Sedgwick’s sitcom Call Your Mother had also been canceled after one season.

American Housewife, created by Sarah Dunn, aired for five seasons and starred Katy Mixon as a mother of three raising her flawed family in a wealthy Connecticut town. The series also starred Diedrich Bader, Meg Donnelly, Ali Wong, and Daniel DiMaggio.
Rebel, the crime drama starring Golden Globe winner Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy), was canceled after only five episodes into its freshman run. The series was inspired by the real-life activist Erin Brockovich and was created by Emmy nominee Krista Vernoff. Rebel centers on Annie “Rebel” Bello (Sagal), a blue-collar legal advocate without a law degree. She’s a funny, messy, brilliant, and fearless woman who cares desperately about the causes she fights for and the people she loves. When Rebel applies herself to a fight she believes in, she will win at almost any cost. The series also stars Andy Garcia, John Corbett, James Lesure, Lex Scott Davis, Tamala Jones, Ariela Barer, Kevin Zegers, and Sam Palladio.
Black-ish spinoff Mixed-ish has been canceled after two seasons on the network. From Emmy nominees Peter Saji and Kenya Barris, and Golden Globe winner Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish), the comedy follows Rainbow Johnson, played by Arica Himmel with Ross narrating, as she recounts her experience growing up in a mixed-race family in the ‘80s and the constant dilemmas they had to face over whether to assimilate or stay true to themselves. The series also stars Tika Sumpter, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Christina Anthony, Ethan William Childress, Mykal-Michelle Harris, and Gary Cole.

For Life, created by Emmy nominee Hank Steinberg, will not be returning for a third season at the network. Sony Pictures TV is expected to shop the series to other buyers, including Hulu (via Deadline).
Executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and starring Nicholas Pinnock, the series is inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr. who was wrongfully convicted as a drug kingpin but got his conviction overturned while in prison and became a licensed attorney. It is a fictional serialized legal and family drama about an imprisoned man, Aaron Wallace (Pinnock), who becomes a lawyer litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. His quest for freedom is driven by his desperate desire to get back to the family he loves – his estranged wife and daughter – and reclaim the life that was stolen from him. For Life also examines the flaws and challenges in our penal and legal systems. Joy Bryant, Ty Harris, and Indira Varma also star.
