NBC and Lilly Singh have decided to end Singh’s late-night program A Little Late With Lilly Singh after just two years, the company and Singh announced on Thursday.

In a statement released alongside the announcement, Singh cited her desire to make longer-form content that focuses on other aspects and stories as the reason for deciding to end the show. “I have a desire to make longer-form content telling underrepresented stories, which is difficult to execute on a nightly show,” Singh said.
Currently, Singh is set to star in a new comedy project on Netflix, which will be executive produced by Kenya Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society. Singh has also signed a first-look deal with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, to develop unscripted projects.

A Little Late Night With Lilly Singh airs weeknights at 1:35 a.m. ET, usually following Tonight with Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers. NBC didn’t immediately announce whether another program was already ready to replace Singh’s, but a report from Variety states that the network is considering options other than talk shows to replace.
