Stranger Things Season 4 should “hopefully” be out next year according to star Finn Wolfhard. Filming of the next installment in the popular Netflix series has been delayed due to the pandemic and Season 3 came out in 2019, which will mark around two years between seasons. There was a similar gap between Season 2 and 3, so this isn’t totally uncalled for.
However, the news does come with a caveat due to the pandemic. “There are very few dates that are reliable,” Wolfhard told a fan via Fanmio video call. “[With the COVID-19 pandemic], we still don’t know day-to-day if we’re gonna be filming next week … There’s really no way to figure out when we’re gonna be wrapping.”

Stranger Things Season 4 is also set to see prior cast members return, such as Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Sadie Sink as Max, Maya Thurman-Hawke as Robin, Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman and Priah Ferguson as Erica Sinclair.
As far as new faces go, Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street), Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd), Eduardo Franco (Booksmart) and Joseph Quinn (Catherine the Great) will be regulars next season. Meanwhile, Sherman Augustus (Into the Badlands), Mason Dye (Bosch), Nikola Djuricko (Legends) and Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones) will be recurring characters.
