Netflix’s Bridgerton gets early Season 3 & Season 4 renewals
As production continues on the upcoming second season of Bridgerton, Netflix has officially renewed producer Shonda Rhimes’ hit period romance drama for third and fourth seasons. The early two-season renewal comes after it was recently confirmed that Season 1 breakout star Regé-Jean Page will not be reprising his role as the Duke of Hastings Simon Bassett in the next season. Despite this, the first season’s female lead Phoebe Dynevor is still expected to return as Daphne, who will now help her brother Lord Anthony Bridgerton in his pursuit of love.

“From the first time I read Julia Quinn’s delicious Bridgerton series, I knew these were stories that would captivate a viewing audience. But the evolution of this adaptation would not be a success without the many significant contributions of the entire Shondaland team,” Rhimes said in a statement (via Deadline). “This two-season pickup is a strong vote of confidence in our work and I feel incredibly grateful to have partners as collaborative and creative as Netflix. Betsy and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue bringing the world of Bridgerton to a worldwide audience.”
