Acorn TV has announced its upcoming lineup for the month of April, including the premieres of Acorn TV Original series Bäckström, Keeping Faith, Series 3, Bloodlands, Murdoch Mysteries, Series 14 and The Brokenwood Mysteries, Series 7.

Murdoch Mysteries, Season 14 (Episodes 1-6)

Set in Toronto at the dawn of the 20th century, this one-hour drama series explores the intriguing world of William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson), a methodical and dashing detective who pioneers innovative forensic techniques to solve some of the city’s most gruesome murders. This top-rated series produced in Canada continues to explore the personal and professional developments in the lives of Detective William Murdoch, Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy), Inspector Thomas Brackenreid (Thomas Craig), Constables George Crabtree (Jonny Harris) and Henry Higgins-Newsome (Lachlan Murdoch), and Detective Llewelyn Watts (Daniel Maslany) as they tackle Toronto’s toughest mysteries, from the serious and historic to the comical and unusual. Regarded by many as the New Zealand version of Midsomer Murders, this acclaimed detective series filmed amid the beautiful landscape of the country’s North Island returns with six feature-length, standalone mysteries featuring compelling characters, dry humor, and piquant wit. After transferring from a big city to the quiet, little, murder-ridden town of Brokenwood, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea, Go Girls) and Detective Kristin Simms (Fern Sutherland, The Almighty Johnsons) uncover more macabre goings on and investigate murderous rivalries and lethal grudges.
